The Benefits of Using Rope Access to Work from Height Rope access is one of the most efficient means of working
at height. It enables us to gain access to complicated engineering and building
structures with ease.
This month's blog at Infinite Access Services
looks at the benefits of using rope access to work from height. For
information, call us in Liverpool on 0151 662

Cost-Effective Compared to scaffolding, specialised rope access equipment
and the number of workers required are more cost-effective. The supply and
construction of scaffolding is far more costly.
Furthermore, the higher the building, the more expensive the
scaffolding will be.
More Access Workers using rope access can access many areas that others
on scaffolding or MEWPs cannot.
Our teams can use the existing structure as a suitable
anchor point, or we can install temporary anchor systems. We can provide EN795 Type A, Certified Anchor
Installers to ensure all temporary anchors are installed to the highest standards
in accordance with BS7883, BS EN795 and BS8610.
Rope access is highly versatile, which allows for projects
in hazardous conditions such as Confined Spaces to be carried out safely with
minimal exposure to risk due to reduced number of personnel required.
Infinite Access Services use the latest industrial / expert
techniques and are IRATA trained to the
highest standard.
Jobs are Completed Quicker Rope access systems are far easier to set up and dismantle
than scaffolding as they require less personnel, equipment and working hours to
complete. Alongside this, scaffolding / MEWP's take up lots of room and often
restrict other working activities on-site.
Rope Access will cause a lot less disruption on a busy work
site as we only need to barrier off our safe working areas. These are generally a lot smaller than those
created using scaffold / MEWP's due to the limited amount of equipment and space
required for set-up.
Rope Access is the method we use to get to the workface but
with our multi-skilled IRATA Rope Access Technicians we can complete a wide
variety of trade-based tasks which include:
Rigging and Lifting Operations – Lift Plannning - Appointed
Persons, Lifting Supervisors, Slinger / Signallers, Riggers Mechanical and Engineering Trades – Fabrication, Welders,
Pipefitters, Platers, Electricians, NDT, Insulators, Mechanics, Hydraulics Confined Space Entry and Rescue – Consultancy, Working
Teams, Dedicated Rescue Teams Other Works – Painting, Glazing, Cladding, Fireproofing,
Inspections, Leak Detection, Banners, Signage, Masonry Repairs, Cleaning
More Environmentally Friendly Because there is no requirement for the transportation or
build of large equipment, there is less of an impact on the environment. Rope
access reduces potential congestion caused by erecting or using scaffolding and
MEWPS. On-site there is a reduction on transport
/ logistical issues of off-loading large amounts of equipment and machinery and
the additional lay-down areas required.
It’s Safer Rope access is known for its safety for working at a height.
The annual number of casualties and fatalities are very low and the industry is
always improving on safety.
Each of our Rope Access Technicians are trained to the
highest industry standards and adhere to the industry leading IRATA ICOP
(International Code of Practice) recommendations
